Age Related Children’s Apps – 9 – 12 Years Old have become to be a broad age group to target because of the interest in games broadens during this age span.  Although there are many apps on the market for gaming and games, I have always as an educator been interested in apps that are also educational.  What better solution could there be for entertaining a child than to also be learning at the same time? In one of my last blogs, I told the story of when I was teaching first grade, the first choice for free time activity was the computer. The computers were only loaded with educational software and were not hooked to the internet. The children loved playing the educational games and did not realize they were learning at their own pace.

The argument some parents have is that too much time on the computer is not good for children. I agree that there needs to be a balance but it is not healthy to do most anything to excess and if a child is naturally drawn to digital learning and they can learn through digital games or apps, why not?

Educational apps are very affordable and are updated regularly for free.  Over the last couple of weeks I have written about the apps that I recommend for different age groups. The age related children’s apps for 9-12 years old that I recommend are:

Roxie’s Puzzle Adventure App Review For iPhone, iPad and Android Tablets – Interactive puzzle app

Rube Works App Review – critical thinking puzzle that requires players to find clues and test them to solve a puzzle

Math 42 – Educational  Middle Grade Math – Middle grade math app

As I review more Age Related Children’s Apps – 9 – 12 Years Old I will add them to this list.
