In review I would like to post my Jan C Watford illustrations for 2017. For the last couple of years I have taken part in a Facebook group,The 52 Week Illustration Challenge. It is a large group of illustrators that range in ability from beginners to professionals. There is a prompt that is assigned for each week. The participants post their illustrations each week on the group’s Facebook page. Various media was used to create these illustrations. Most of my illustrations were created on my Ipad Pro with Apple Pencil and on the Procreate App. Some were created watercolor or colored pencil. It has been so much fun not only creating my illustrations but also seeing the interpretations of all the other illustrators.
Unfortunately The 52 Week Illustration Challenge decided to close, I will miss creating an illustration each week for the challenge. I have decided to use this time to work on my own children’s books and illustrations. I presently have six different children’s book’s that I want to self publish. It has been hard for me to find the time to work on them in the time I was participating in the weekly challenge. These books include a new edition of my chapter book, Roland’s Stupendous Imagination And The Native Americans, Lucy and Pablo’s Bug Garden; a picture book, The ABC Bug Book, a picture book, Baldo’s Hairy Pants; a picture book, and another chapter book,The Interstate Squirrel which based on a true story. I am hoping 2018 will be a productive year from me and in December I can feel happy of my accomplishments. I hope you enjoy viewing my illustrations of 2017. I plan on writing blog posts soon about some of them that have special meaning for me. Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts on the form below. Also check out my shop on this website and see my new products that feature my illustrations and art. I also have a line of ceramic products that I have designed and hand make. The sale of all my products help me fund the publishing of my books and my dreams on my bucket list of dreams. I also will contribute a portion of the profits each month to charity.
