Usually I  blog about apps,books and crafts for young children, but I feel compelled to share the information I have learned about Scholly App for helping students find scholarships.  Being a faithful fan of the TV show, Shark Tank, I saw one of the founders pitch his app to the investors on Shark Tank.  A young guy, in college himself, he explained that he discovered how difficult it was to match scholarships with needs of students when he started his search.  He became very proficient at the process and was awarded over 1.3 million dollars in scholarships. I know many students that would be extremely grateful for even a small portion of that amount of money.  He stated and the shark investors agreed that it is a huge problem finding the right financial help for students that need it. Then an interesting thing happened that even astonished Christopher Gray, the presenter and founder of Scholly.  Before he could finish his presentation, Lori Greer, one of the shark investors, interrupted him and said she was ready to invest the full amount he was asking then and without further explanation. It astonished everyone but he asked to still hear other offers.

As you can see in this video which is the full replay of that segment and presentation on Scholly, the investors immediately went for the idea and it was funded for the full amount asked for.  It is wonderful that the investors recognized the need for this app and were so ready to fund it without much explanation, but also inspiring that entrepreneurs are using the technology platform which has been very lucrative for many people also  for good causes.

I kept thinking about this after the show was over and if I should blog about it.  It really is not in a n area that usually discuss but I am in hope that people will pass the word about this app and if even just one person can be helped to find a scholarship for his/her education it will be worth it.

The app is available on both iPhone and android devices and the price is 99 cents.  I am not making anything off this endorsement but hope you will help pass the word about this app.  It also is available for bulk purchase for schools, colleges and universities.  The app contains a data base of over 20,000 available scholarships, many of which wold be very difficult to match to the student without this simple process of matching through this app.  Check out Scholly App – Helping Students Find Scholarships and please leave a comment and let me know what you think.
