When reading Jo Linsdell’s newest children’s book, The Box today for this children’s book review the word that came to mind to describe it is simplistic. The text, illustrations, and the theme of the book is simplicity at its best. It is not complicated, fancy, or hard to understand. The book shares the creative possibilities of taking a simple cardboard box and using imagination to let it become an endless array of possibilities to entertain and amuse young children. The thought struck me as I read it how things in life need to be simplified to the basics. The simplicity of taking something that normally would be thrown out and using it for endless sources of imagination and fun is what adults and children need to remind us to be grateful for simple pleasures, recycle, and use your imagination to enjoy life to its fullest.
This is a cute book and offers great creative ideas for kids imaginations.
