This is a Coursera Review about Learning Online and taking courses in the privacy of your own home or as a portable option any where you might choose. The world-wide web has opened many doors for leaning and taking courses, Many students of all ages love the option of not only studying wherever you choose but also the option of choosing your time to study. This flexibility is much-needed by those that work full-time jobs and have other responsibilities.
There are many apps and online learning programs online. What first caught my attention about Coursera is that it provides universal access to the world’s best education, partnering with top universities and organizations to offer courses online. The subjects include areas of specialization in art and humanities, business, computer Sciences, Data Science, Life Sciences, math and logic, personal development, physical science, engineering, social sciences, and language learning. The 148 partners or learning institutions that participate include such well know learning institutions as Rutgers, University of Ca, University of Fl, University of NC, Rice University, California Institute of the Arts, Columbia University, The World Bank Group, National Geographic, Princeton, Tel Aviv, Stanford, Yale University and many more across 28 countries. The courses offered total 1,923.
If you think like I do, you probably are thinking by now that it sounds great but how much does it cost. The prices vary according to the course you choose. Some courses are set up as a specialization with a number of courses that you take in order. Each course is priced individually and vary in price from $49 to $95 for each course and you are given a discount if you buy them all at once. These prices are random for the courses I checked and there may be some courses that cost either more or less. It seems to vary widely between courses depending on which learning institution is offering it. Some of the courses do offer a certificate upon completion. Each course does have a syllabus and projects the amount of time it will take you each week to do the course work. If you can not afford the fee you can apply for financial assistance.
There are many options for learning online but Coursera is one of the few that offer courses from accredited universities and colleges for a fraction of the cost that you would pay to attend the university or college. The learning is also offered as portable in an app from the Apple App Store or from Google Play or can be viewed online.
